Đoàn quân Việt Nam đi
The Vietnamese army marches on
Chung lòng cứu quốc
With one heart to save the nation
Bước chân dồn vang trên đường gập ghềnh xa
Footsteps resound on the long, rugged road
Cờ in máu chiến thắng mang hồn nước,
The flag, dyed with victory, bears the soul of the nation,
Súng ngoài xa chen khúc quân hành ca.
Distant guns mingle with the marching song.
Đường vinh quang xây xác quân thù,
The road of glory is built on the bodies of foes,
Thắng gian lao cùng nhau lập chiến khu.
Overcoming hardship together, we build the war zone.
Vì nhân dân chiến đấu không ngừng,
For the people, we fight without ceasing,
Tiến mau ra sa trường,
Advance swiftly to the battlefield,
Tiến lên, cùng tiến lên.
Advance, together advance.
Nước non Việt Nam ta vững bền.
Our Vietnam’s mountains and rivers stand firm.
Đoàn quân Việt Nam đi
The Vietnamese army marches on
Sao vàng phấp phới
The golden star flutters
Dắt giống nòi quê hương qua nơi lầm than
Leading our homeland’s people through places of misery
Cùng chung sức phấn đấu xây đời mới,
Together we strive to build a new life,
Đứng đều lên gông xích ta đập tan.
Stand in step, we shatter the chains.
Từ bao lâu ta nuốt căm hờn,
For so long we have swallowed our hatred,
Quyết hy sinh đời ta tươi thắm hơn.
Resolved to sacrifice so our lives may bloom brighter.
Vì nhân dân chiến đấu không ngừng,
For the people, we fight without ceasing,
Tiến mau ra sa trường,
Advance swiftly to the battlefield,
Tiến lên, cùng tiến lên.
Advance, together advance.
Nước non Việt Nam ta vững bền.
Our Vietnam’s mountains and rivers stand firm.
