Moldova's national anthem, "Limba noastră" (Our Tongue), was adopted in 1994, replacing the Romanian anthem used during its early independence periods. The anthem's lyrics are derived from a longer poem, with only a selection of its stanzas used today.

    Moldova used the Romanian anthem during its initial brief period of independence.
