Dā Də Bātorāno Kor · دا د باتورانو کور
After the fall of the Taliban, Afghanistan's 2004 constitution mandated a new national anthem in Pashto, incorporating specific religious and ethnic mentions. "Milli Surood" was adopted in 2006, though it faced criticism for its prescribed composition.
Following the Taliban's fall, the new constitution required an anthem in Pashto, mentioning 'Allahu Akbar' and ethnic groups.
"Milli Surood" was officially adopted, composed by Babrak Wasa with lyrics by Abdul Bari Jahani.
The Afghan government collapsed to the Taliban, leading to their effective control of the country.
The winning anthem was created by two Afghans living outside the country due to the war, despite its purpose to signal a new era for Afghanistan.
